OUR STORY
One Green Corridor is a community of gardeners—from first-time growers to seasoned green thumbs—supporting ecosystems through gardens of any size, from a few pots to an entire yard.
My love for gardening began in Brooklyn, when I was deciding what to do with our small, cement-covered yard. I thought it would be fun to plant native New York species to complement my husband’s Shea Stadium Mets chairs. As I researched what to grow, I discovered the essential role native plants play in supporting pollinators and other insects. Removing the cement, meeting neighborhood gardeners, visiting local native nurseries and seeing the first monarch arrive in our garden, deepened my commitment to ecological gardening.
Together with urban and rural gardeners, native nurseries, and local restoration efforts, OGC’s vision is to create One—continuous—Green Corridor.
